Stages of varicose disease

  • stage 0 - discomfort, feeling of "heavy" legs;
  • stage 1 - small subcutaneous vessels are observed, possible nocturnal contractions of the leg muscles;
  • stage 2 - dilated veins begin to become visible;
  • stage 3 - leg edema occurs, which does not go away after rest;
  • stage 4 - venous dermatitis appears, the calves have a dark brown color;
  • stage 5 - preulcerous or closed ulcer stage, decompensated varicose disease;
  • stage 6 - the ulcer appears, usually at the level of the calf.
